Our Bath Systems

Q: What types of bathing systems does Apollo offer?

A: Our two main types of bathing systems are Advantage™ and Serenity™ whirlpool systems.
The Advantage system is used more in nursing homes and other elder care facilities. The Serenity system is generally preferred by assisted living facilities. Visit our Bathing Systems page to learn more.
We also offer a groundbreaking Air Spa that features self-sealing air outlets, a backflushing system and blower assisted line disinfection systems. Learn more about air spas and whirlpools here.

Q: If our bathing system is equipped with Remedy®, do we need to disinfect between baths?

A: Apollo systems equipped with Remedy require only a cleaning step with Turbo Clean™ between baths. Facilities may choose to adjust this protocol depending upon the profile of the resident(s) being bathed, but studies show Remedy-equipped whirlpools cleaned between each bath with Turbo Clean have fewer remaining bacteria than other systems that have been chemically disinfected.

Q: How long do Remedy UV bulbs last?

A: Each UV bulb will last about 5,000 hours. When the bulb burns out, an indicator on the tub’s control panel will alert you. Contact Apollo Customer Service to order new bulbs.

Q: How do I turn Remedy on and off?

A: Remedy automatically turns on and off with a push of the whirlpool button.

Q: What is the weight capacity of your Level Glide™ transfer system?

A: Weight capacity for the Level Glide is 300 pounds.

Q: How do whirlpools compare to air spas relative to infection control?

A: Contrary to popular belief, self-infection is a more serious issue than cross-contamination. Even if a tub is cleaned and disinfected between baths, the bacteria levels skyrocket once a person gets in the tub to bathe. Air spas hold no advantage over whirlpools when it comes to self-infection. Apollo’s UV System, Remedy, kills bacteria during the bath, making it the safest bathing system relative to infection control on the market.

However, in keeping with Apollo’s industry-leading commitment to Infection Protection, we offer the only air spa that back-flushes the internal air lines with cleaner and disinfectant. After the disinfectant has been flushed with clean water, our air spa has an automatic blower feature to completely dry out the lines within the system to virtually eliminate the chance for cross-contamination.

Q: How long do the door gaskets last?

Maintenance & Warranty Info

Q: What kind of warranty does Apollo offer on its bathing systems?

A: All Apollo bathing systems are covered by a one-year limited warranty that protects against defects in workmanship and materials. It does not cover normal wear and tear on items such as hoses, gaskets and seals. Apollo offers a two-year warranty extension simply by agreeing to regularly purchase Apollo’s high performance skin care and equipment care products for the duration of the warranty. For more information on our extended warranty, contact Apollo.

Q: If we buy an Apollo bathing system, do we need to use Apollo solutions?

A: While you can use non-Apollo products in Apollo equipment without damaging the system, we strongly recommend Apollo skin care and equipment care products for all of your solutions needs. Our products are specially formulated to meet the unique skin care needs of geriatric residents and unmatched for leaving skin conditioned and fresh smelling. Additionally, our skin care products contain no agents or dyes that absorb or that inhibit the effectiveness of the Remedy ultra violet water purification system.

Q: What is the difference between Power Clean and Turbo Clean?

A: Power Clean is primarily used for any bathing system without an automatic dispensing system or for any surface requiring the pre-cleaning step before disinfection. Turbo Clean is used with bathing systems equipped with automatic systems to back-flush the whirlpool lines. Turbo Clean is especially effective for systems equipped with the Remedy ultra violet water purification system.

Q: How do Power Clean and Turbo Clean differ from Cid-A-L™?

A: Unlike Cid-A-L, Power Clean and Turbo Clean are not quaternary disinfectants, but are used for the “pre-cleaning” step in the disinfection process. Most disinfectants on the market are called one-step cleaners/disinfectants, but are not designed to handle all of the bacteria and bio-load left behind on a tub after a bath. Turbo Clean and Power Clean remove these gross soils so the disinfectant can be more effective.
